About
My Story
With over 35 years of nursing experience, I have a great passion for palliative care and supporting those facing their final journey. I also hold a deep desire to open up discussions around death, dying and end-of-life issues, as I believe that this contains enormous possibilities for living more fully and richly.
I can offer a range of supports for you including Advance Care Planning, Patient Advocacy and a listening ear. I also bring a keen sense of humour, a love of music and laughter and a wish to bring light and ease to what is traditionally seen as a dark time.
Services
Expertise. Intuition. Experience
Advance Care Planning
Have you considered what kind of medical treatments you would want- or NOT want - if you were suddenly unwell and was unable to speak for yourself? Would your close circle know how to decide for you? I am able to assist you to put the whole thing together.
Doula Services
A Doula is traditionally known as one who serves, and as an End of Life Doula, I am here to support you and your circle in a variety of ways. Receiving an End of Life diagnosis is certainly a significant event, and not only for the person at the centre of the story. I can walk alongside you, offering a listening ear and an understanding heart. My years of experience and knowledge of healthcare and palliative care add an extra layer of benefit.
Patient Advocacy
Navigating your way around the healthcare system can be mind-boggling and a little overwhelming. Advocacy offers guidance, clarity and support for you as you make your own decisions.
Workshops and Events
I am passionate about promoting death literacy and sparking conversations around end of life. I can tailor an education package to the needs of your group or workplace. Topics include Advance Care Planning, How to Accompany the Dying or Compassionate Communities. I also run regular Death Cafes.
